Clon3D

There is a new kid on the block in 2011 that is competing in the digital impression arena, the IODIS scanner from Clon3D.

Edmonds Dental Prosthetics is one of 10 laboratories in the US that has distribution rights for this technology.  Edmonds is currently working with this device in the laboratory to become familiar with the scanning technique and make sure the files transfer seamlessly to our design center.

Clon3DThe IODIS scanner is designed to work with or without powder and the system consists of nothing more than a lap top computer, power supply, and the scanner itself. A trained specialist from Edmonds Dental Prosthetics will be responsible for setting up and educating the doctor and staff on using this exciting technology in their practice. This open architecture intra oral scanner gives doctors the opportunity to prescribe an array of different products offered by Edmonds instead of the current competitors scanners potentially tying or limiting doctors to a specific product.

2011 will be an exciting year in digital impression advancements. There will be steep competition in this arena as more scanners come to market with a variety of business models to fit every doctors needs. Edmonds Dental Prosthetics is also working closely with Arges, another intra oral digital scanner company that is on the horizon. Arges also offers a small hand held unit and computer that requires a lightly powdered area for scanning.

Advancements in the dental industry are moving at light speed and may seem overwhelming at times. Edmonds Dental Prosthetics will continue to be the leader in new technologies and advancements in digital technology and remain a valuable resource for our doctors and their patients.
